"There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey."
-John Ruskin English Author and Social Thinker
Before re-siding your home there are some things you should know about vinyl siding:
Vinyl siding has a very high rate of expansion and contraction.
Vinyl siding is very sensitive to heat (it warps and melts).
It softens and buckles at 160 degrees surface temperature.
It can't be nailed tight to a structure; therefore becomes susceptible to wind damage.
NO strength.
Vinyl siding chips, cracks and breaks easily.
It is extremely vulnerable to hail and other perils.
Styles and colors are discontinued at manufacturer's discretion.
It is very sensitive to UV rays (causing fading); replacing damaged panels to match existing color is impossible.
You get what you pay for; a cheap initial charge may cost you a lot in the long run.
Price = What you initially pay for the product (a one time expense)
Cost = Price + repairs and maintenance over the useful life of the product
Value = Usefulness, performance and benefit to you in comparison to cost (bang for your buck)
Would you put this on your home at any price?
